Louis Ludik, one Ulster’s three South African acquisitions this summer, has warned against showing too much respect to tomorrow’s European Champions Cup opponents Toulon.

The European kingpins visit the Kingspan Stadium for the first time, but the 28-year-old former Sharks full-back doesn’t want his side to be overawed by the French visitors.

“We’ve got a lot of respect for them obviously, but if we give them too much respect, we are dead,” said Ludik, who is happy to play at full-back to allow Jared Payne ply his trade in the number 13 jersey.
