Kilfeacle proved too strong for St. Mary’s in the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup while Douglas lost their Martin O’Sullivan Cup crown.

Kilfeacle beat St. Mary’s 23-11 at the Tipperary venue, with Pat Ryan scored two tries for Kilfeacle and JJ Cooney and Josh Featherstone also crossing. Darren Lowry kicked a penalty. Matthew Hickey replied with a try for the holders and Sean Lyons kicked two penalties.

The meeting of two of the top sides in Division 1 saw Newcastle West defeat Muskerry 49-7 at Ballyanly. The winners scored seven tries, with James Kelly getting two and Michael Culhane, Marley Sheehan, Sean Corbett, Declan Moloney and John Sheehan one each. Sean Herlihy kicked four conversions and two penalties. Liam O’Donovan replied with a try for the home side.

Skibbereen defeated Waterpark 13-10 at the west Cork venue. A try from David O’Donoghue and a conversion and a penalty by Kieran Butler had Waterpark 10-7 ahead at half time. Declan Coppinger scored a try for the home side and Ger Hurley converted.

quarter-final place, but they had to withstand a strong finish from the visitors, who laid siege to their line.

St. Senan’s defeated Kinsale 30-7. David Dunne, Fernando Gallant, Stephen Ryan and Fergal Lawler were try scorers for the Clare side and Declan Rowe kicked two conversions and two penalties.

The Galbally v Cobh Pirates game was abandoned after 45 minutes on Friday night due to floodlight failure with Cobh leading 5-0. Aaron O’Flynn scored the try for Cobh.

Bandon defeated Crosshaven 49-0 in the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Shield in a game that also doubled up as a league game and this result sees Bandon hold a five point lead at the top of the Second Division.

Mighty Okafor scored two tries for Bandon and Nicky Walsh, Richard Walsh, Christian Mulcahy and Oisin Healy got one apiece. Richard Walsh converted all seven tries.

Extra-time was needed to decide the Ballincollig v Abbeyfeale tie as the sides finished scoreless after 80 minutes. John Brown and David Collins scored tries for Abbeyfeale and Tomas Hassett kicked a conversion and a penalty for a 15-0 victory.

Ennis got revenge for last week’s defeat by Castleisland in the league as they ran out 15-10 winners. Elle Mundo and Brian Dolan scored tries for Ennis and Conor Dolan kicked a conversion and a penalty. Connie Reynolds replied for the Kerry side with a try, conversion and a penalty.

Thurles were 47-3 away winners over Presentation. Teddy Skeehan scored two tries for the winners and Andrew Bourke, Donnacha Duggan, Nicky Irwin and Eoghan Dwyer all crossed the white wash and Dwyer kicked four conversions and three penalties. Greg Airey replied with a penalty for the home side.

Douglas lost 20-8 away to Scariff in the Martin O’Sullivan Cup. A penalty from Eoin Philpott gave Douglas a 3-0 interval lead. Scariff hit back with a try, conversion and penalty from Conor McNamara, Conor Moloney scored a try and a penalty and Robbie Madden also kicked a conversion. Niall O’Connell replied with a try for Douglas.

Fethard, making their first appearance in the competition, defeated Carrigaline 17-13. Michael Power, Jamie McCormack and Kieran Power all scored tries and Declan Doyle added a conversion. Ray Donoghue had a try for the home side and John Tait kicked a conversion and two penalties.

Fermoy beat Bantry Bay 15-0, with all the scores coming in the opening half. Ian Pratt and Eric Stapleton scored tries and Dylan Lacey kicked a conversion and a penalty.
