I’m ready to lead, says captain O’Mahony

Peter O’Mahony has been handed a huge responsibility to lead Munster back to the top of the European pile, but he has every intention of fulfilling the demands imposed upon him.

I’m ready to lead, says captain O’Mahony

The 23-year-old ‘rookie’, with 16 Irish caps and 46 appearances for the province, says he will not be caught in the path of a cross-wind following his appointment as Munster captain just a few weeks after leading a depleted Ireland to victory over the USA and Canada on their summer tour.

An ominous sign for opponents is that O’Mahony is still a bit miffed at losing out on the opportunity of helping to bring down the Wallabies with the British and Irish Lions, but ultimately, he is very pleased he made it to America, and that he became captain there in place of Rory Best, who was called up as a replacement to the Lions in Australia.
