O’Gara gets the boot

Irish rugby legend Ronan O’Gara is likely to call time on his international career after being axed last night from the squad to face France on Saturday.

O’Gara gets the boot

The country’s record points-scorer was told yesterday by coach Declan Kidney that he is not in the 32-man Six Nations squad for next weekend’s game. The decision may trigger a retirement announcement from the Munster out-half in the coming days.

O’Gara, who will be 36 this week, is out of contract with the IRFU at the end of the season, and though Munster may consider retaining his services, it is more likely he will retire from the game at the end of this campaign.
