Munster not taking Treviso test lightly, declares Hurley

Denis Hurley laid it firmly on the line where Munster’s RaboDirect Pro12 game against Treviso on Sunday is concerned. It must be won or else a home semi-final or even a place in the last four would be extremely difficult to achieve.

Hurley, scorer of the only try in Munster’s otherwise poor performance in defeat by the Scarlets last week, has been turning in a series of consistent performances throughout the season. Full-back on the triumphant Heineken Cup side in 2008, the Dolphin man is now one of the most experienced members of the squad and insists a win is the only option if they want a top four finish.

“It is not mentioned in the squad,” he says. “Our focus is on Treviso because we know how important it is for us. We need to turn around from last weekend and come away from Italy with a win and a strong performance would be great.
