Bacteria scare keeps Bruff RFC on their guard

Limerick County Council issued a boil water notice on the advice of the Health Service Executive following routine testing.

Subsequently club members were forced to bring water from alternative sources so that the pre-match lunch could be prepared for both clubs.

Bruff RFC President Richard Leonard revealed: “We had to get water in on Saturday when we had the AIL game between ourselves and Dublin University Football Club (Trinity). For the pre-match lunch we had bought water for cooking. There were big bottles brought — the gallon containers. All the empties were lined up in the kitchen. In fairness we got notification on Friday about it. We were told well in advance so it wasn’t a major problem. It was just a matter of hauling it in,” he told the Limerick Leader.
