Late games affecting crowds, says Fitzgerald

Munster’s chief executive Garrett Fitzgerald has called on tournament organisers to give greater consideration to clubs when allocating kick-off times to allow them maximise attendance opportunities.

Late games affecting crowds, says Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald’s comments were aimed primarily at RaboDirect Pro12 organisers, but they’re made in a week when Munster are struggling to fill Thomond Park for Sunday’s Heineken Cup clash with Edinburgh.

Fitzgerald described the 12.45pm kick off as unsuitable but also feels aggrieved with the Rabo KO times, with most of Munster’s home games for 8pm. He said this slot was the worst possible time of the weekend for fans.
