Penney in for long haul at Munster

Incoming Munster head coach Rob Penney has already spoken of his wish to stay beyond his initial two-year deal.

Munster Rugby announced on Wednesday they had signed the successful Canterbury head coach on a two-year deal to replace Australia-bound Tony McGahan this summer and the New Zealander already has his sights on building a legacy with the province.

“I’m hopeful of being able to add value and am really keen to develop the Irish boys,” Penney told the New Zealand Herald. “You can lay a foundation for the first couple of years and it tends to bear fruit after three or four.”
