Youngster Conor Murray plans to play a senior role in Munster’s battle for silverware over the next few weeks.

Murray retains big hopes for Munster season

The scrum-half has enjoyed a magnificent rise from rookie to established player and he hopes the Heineken Cup loss to Ulster recently won’t signal the end of an eventful season. His recent knee injury has cleared up and Murray is guaranteed a place in the Irish squad to tour New Zealand. But, he feels, there is some unfinished business to be dealt with first.

Purely on a Munster level, Murray wants a return for his efforts. It can’t be a Heineken Cup medal but a bit of silverware from a RaboDirect Pro12 success would be some compensation.
