Ronan misses trip to Northampton

MUNSTER will have to plan without openside flanker Niall Ronan for their final pool game of the Heineken Cup away to the Northampton Saints.

The Meathman picked up a knee injury in the first half of their home victory over Castres. A scan yesterday revealed he had damaged the ligament in his left knee but will need further tests before the full extent of the injury can be ascertained.

Ronan is the third Munster number seven to end up on the injured list.

However there was good news for Mike Sherry. Although the hooker will miss this weekend’s Heineken Cup clash he will play in either the AIL or British and Irish Cup where Munster take on Ulster on Friday in Ravenhill.
