CLONTARF put a major dent in Shannon’s title aspirations with a 29-8 win over the Limerick side in Saturday’s Ulster Bank League Division 1A clash at Castle Avenue.

The visitors were hugely competitive in the first-half but Clontarf came good after the break and picked up the bonus point for scoring four tries, two from Simon Crawford and one each from Barry O’Mahony and Killian Lett.

Richie Lane kicked three conversions and a penalty whileShannon had a try from David O’Donovan and a penalty from Tadhg Bennett. Clontarf retain second spot while Shannon tumble from third to sixth in the table.
