Stringer will fight for Munster place

PETER STRINGER accepts this season may well be his last with Munster but the veteran scrum-half remains determined to prove that he still has a future with the province.

Stringer, who turns 34 next month, has found himself on the periphery of Tony McGahan’s plans this season and admits that playing his rugby elsewhere next season is a strong possibility.

While Conor Murray and Tomás O’Leary were taking care of scrum-half duties against Castres in the Heineken Cup last weekend, Stringer had to settle for a place on the bench for the Munster A side’s British & Irish Cup win over Neath, as Duncan Williams was handed the number nine shirt.
