Aussie pair say Munster’s Chambers a gem

MUNSTER’S new signing Will Chambers has received glowing references from two of his former Queensland Reds team-mates, Will Genia and Digby Ioane.

Aussie pair say Munster’s Chambers a gem

Chambers, who previously played Rugby League in Australia for the Melbourne Storm franchise, signed a six-month deal with Tony McGahan’s side and Wallabies winger Ioane thinks Munster have signed a real gem.

“He’s a top bloke and if he gets quick ball he can break the line and cause teams problems most definitely,” said Ioane.

“He had a bad year with injuries last season, but when he’s fit to play he can make something out of nothing. I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on over there.”

Australia’s star scrum-half Genia expects the hard-running centre to make a big impression in Ireland.

“From a player’s point of view, he’s an absolute team man,” said Genia.

“He does everything he can to make sure the team performs well on the field. He does the basics very well. He’s a big direct player and runs hard straight lines. He runs hard, tackles hard and has a great work ethic.

“He’s a classy player and he’ll do very well at Munster.”
