Thomond decider sold out
The final tickets for the Thomond Park showdown next Saturday were snapped up within minutes of going on sale yesterday. Added seating brings the capacity at the Limerick venue to 26,100 for the clash.
Leinster didn’t take their full allocation and these were snapped up by Munster fans, one of whom, Paul Reals from Limerick, became the 1,000,000th Magners League ticket purchaser and earned a hospitality package for the final
Munster Sales & Marketing Manager Glyn Billinghurst last night paid tribute to the province’s fanbase.
“They’ve (Munster fans) been criticised in some quarters in recent weeks, wrongly in my opinion, and have responded brilliantly. Their critics forget that over the course of three games recently, in the space of four weeks, nearly 57,000 turned up to support the team and now once again, despite the recessionary times we’re living in, they’re voting with their feet and their wallets.”
