LOCAL derbies in any sport seldom live up to pre-match hype, but Saturday in Limerick was different — this was Munster verses Leinster.

In a game that could have graced the final itself, both sides left it all out there.

There were no cups or medals handed out in the end of this contest, just a knowing look and a recognition that while Munster may have fallen behind their nearest and dearest in terms of creativity and attacking potency, they still have what it takes to win tight games.
