Winning captain urges coaches to give starlets Munster shot

AS Bruff yesterday celebrated 40 years of rugby with a memorable ODM Munster Senior Cup triumph, club captain Cathal O’Regan called on Munster coaches to take a look at some of the talented youngsters who contributed to the red letter day.

O’Regan admitted he is happy that there has been no disruption of Bruff’s playing resources this season, but feels the time is right for players such as man of the match Tony Cahill, Brian Cahill, Brendan Deady and John Shine to be given a chance at a higher level.

“There has been a lot said about this club - about us being from a GAA background and about the great character and heart we have. That is true, but we’re serious rugby players capable of playing serious rugby as well.
