Boks set to face Ireland in November Aviva clash

WORLD Champions South Africa will herald a new rugby era at the Aviva Stadium when they face Ireland in the first of the Guinness November internationals.

To mark the historic occasion (November 6, 5.30pm), the visitors have waived their right to wear their home jersey, meaning Declan Kidney’s side will be in their traditional green for the Lansdowne Road clash.

Ireland have a busy November schedule with games against Samoa on November 13 (2.30pm) New Zealand on November 20 (5.30 pm) and Argentina on November 28 (2.30pm).

Meanwhile armchair rugby fans are set to enjoy a feast of televised action in the coming months.

RTÉ Sport yesterday confirmed they will broadcast the quartet of November internationals on RTÉ Two, RTÉ Radio and on their website.

The station, along with TG4 and BBC, will also carry live coverage of this season’s Magners League. RTÉ will show Leinster and Munster’s first-round games against Glasgow Warriors and Aironi Rugby respectively on the opening weekend in September. Connacht’s clash with Newport Gwent Dragons will be on TG4 while BBC Northern Ireland will televise Ulster’s game with Ospreys.

The glamour meeting of Leinster and Munster on October 2 will be shown by the Irish language station.
