Munster fans assured of a friendly welcome

AS Munster’s fans roar on their heroes in Sunday’s Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Biarritz in San Sebastian, they will be joined in the chorus by a contingent of local fans as the Reds bid to secure a place in the European decider.

Biarritz lies just a short way across the border in France, but memories of Munster’s last visit to San Sebastian still linger with the locals.

It mattered little that Munster lost that quarter-final game 10-19 – everyone in San Sebastian was enthralled with the carnival atmosphere created by the visiting fans and, of course, the massive contribution they made to the local economy.
