Munster and Irish ace English dies

THE death has taken place of legendary Irish rugby player Mick English.

The former Munster, Ireland and British and Irish Lions player died yesterday following a long illness. He was 76.

English was capped 16 times for Ireland between 1958 and 1963 and earned a place on the Lions tour to New Zealand and Australia in 1959. He played his club rugby for Bohemians in Limerick and Lansdowne in Dublin following his move to work in the capital.
