Briggs the star of the show as Ireland wallop Wales
The Welsh had kicked off the scoring with four minutes gone in the game when Non Evans slotted over a penalty.
Wales then had an opportunity to extend their lead but Evans was off target with an effort with just under quarter of an hour gone.
And it was to prove a costly miss when on 15 minutes, Briggs raced half the length of the pitch to score in the left hand corner.
Ireland were then dealt a blow when their number two Chris Fanning was sent to the sin bin on 22 minutes.
However Welsh captain and back row, Melissa Berry was to follow her on the half hour and then approaching half time, Ireland came close to a second try when Briggs spilled just short of the line after wing forward, Claire Molloy had cleverly drew the Welsh cover.
Ireland eventually registered their second try when scrum half Tania Rosser scored off phased ball to go over in the left hand corner. And with the Ireland dominant in all sectors now, they came close to their third try when another terrific run from Briggs saw her escape her marker.
The full back however failed to ground the ball fully as she went to touch down but made amends with a 70th minute penalty.
And then in the dying seconds, Irish number 8, Joy Neville went over for a pushover try to complete a memorable night for the Irish.
