MUNSTER and Ireland flanker Alan Quinlan last night insisted that Ronan O’Gara still had a huge role to play in international rugby.

Any suggestion that O’Gara would be easily eclipsed by the up-and-coming Jonathan Sexton was dismissed by the veteran back row forward who praised his colleague for what he described as a massive contribution to Irish rugby at every level.

Speaking on the RTÉ rugby programme Against The Head, Quinlan said: “Ronan has been fantastic for Ireland and Munster over a number of seasons. It annoys me a bit that in the whole Jonny Sexton/Ronan O’Gara debate, people are just looking for Ronan’s weaknesses.
