Reddan happy with display
The European Champions scored tries courtesy of Rob Kearney and a brace from substitute Kevin McLoughlin but it could have been more but for a few fluffed lines in an otherwise perfect performance.
âIt was a good result down here,â said Reddan before adding, âwe still have to go to Llanelli in the next round.â
Reddan was delighted with the way his side marshalled the defensive line after the disappointment of defeat to London Irish the previous weekend.
âThey had a few exciting backs that can break the line from anywhere,â added the scrum half. âWe couldnât switch off at any stage. One try would have brought them back into it so it was good to score just after they did in the second half.â
Reddan also praised the reaction of his Leinster team-mates following their opening day defeat to the Guinness Premiership outfit.
âI think the stuff we worked on during the week helped. We scored a try off first-phase which we worked on during the week and thatâs a good sign.
âWeâll go home now and reassess and get ready for the next challenge. I know that sounds a bit clichĂ©d but thatâs the way the Heineken Cup is.
âItâs a good result that opens the group wide up. Itâs obviously a tough group. Llanelli are seriously in the thick of things as well and it makes the next two games important.â
The issue of leaving that bonus point could well come back to haunt Michael Cheikaâs side.
Reddan agreed, but qualified his answer by focusing on the result.
âYeah, but at the same time you have to have a go at them down here and win the game. We can look at the video and say we could have been better but weâll park the Heineken Cup for a few weeks and get stuck into the Magners again.â
