Varley relishing return to Munster

RETURNING Munster hooker Damien Varley insists he can’t wait to have a second crack at nailing down a place in Tony McGahan’s side next season.

Varley will be among Munster’s non-international contingent who are reporting for the start of pre-season training in Cork and Limerick today, just six weeks after they signed off on the 2008/09 campaign.

The former Garryowen man was in the extended Munster pre-season training squad in 2006, but found his opportunities severely limited behind Jerry Flannery, Frankie Sheahan and Denis Fogarty.
