Italy entry to Magners backed ‘in principle’

MUNSTER chief executive Garrett Fitzgerald last night expressed his support “in principle” to the inclusion of two Italian teams in the Magners League from the beginning of the 2010/11 season.

Fitzgerald stated that he’s looking forward to reading the complete proposals when produced by the Celtic Rugby Board, but is cognisant of the consequences of an enlarged fixture calendar, on top of extra seasonal travel costs for the province.
