Robinson talks up merits of Cheika’s team
At the wrong end of heavy defeats to Michael Cheika’s side over the last few months, Edinburgh provided dogged resistance to frustrate a side that had to rely on four Felipe Contepomi penalties to steer them to a shaky 12-3 victory.
Edinburgh boss Robinson was not impressed with the Irish province’s tactics. He admitted: “It wasn’t a typical Leinster display. They tried to run over us and when you get teams that try that you’ve got to stand toe to toe with them. Leinster’s best attacks were their counter-attacks. Kearney (Rob) in particular was very dangerous but their method of attack was more about trying to bully us. You stand up to bullying and you’ve got a chance.”
