O’Gara joy at new number 1... and 2

RUGBY star Ronan O’Gara is lining out for a whole new ball game after his wife Jessica gave birth to twins — a boy and a girl.

The new arrivals — understood to have been named Molly and Rory — were born at Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) around midday on Saturday.

Ronan was at his wife’s side for the birth and there were no complications. Jessica and the babies are doing very well and are expected home over the coming days.

“Ronan and Jessica are just delighted and absolutely over the moon,” a source said last night.

“It was a natural birth and everything went smoothly. They have requested complete privacy now and just want to be left alone to enjoy this wonderful time.”

Just hours before the birth 31-year-old O’Gara was the saviour in Munster’s last-gasp victory in Friday night’s Heineken Cup thriller against Montauban, with a late penalty kick in Limerick’s Thomond Park.

But the Ireland number 10’s focus was firmly on Jennifer, a primary school teacher, and their new numbers 1 and 2 by Saturday morning.

The arrivals meant Ronan had to cancel weekend signings in Limerick and Cork of his autobiography, launched earlier this month.
