Keatley out of Dax clash

IAN KEATLEY seems certain to miss Connacht’s opening European Challenge Cup clash with Dax in France on Friday, after sustaining a controversial head injury in the defeat of Leinster on Sunday.

Keatley sustained the injury as a result of an alleged punch/elbow and is believed to have suffered concussion.

Connacht coach Michael Bradley said yesterday a medical assessment had to be made but expressed doubt whether Keatley would be considered. “We don’t take chances with any injured player,” he said.
