Gatland: Kidney the right choice

WALES supremo, Warren Gatland, has welcomed the appointment of Declan Kidney as Ireland’s new head coach, and believes that his Welsh team face a massive challenge if they are going to overcome a side coached by the Corkman in the 2009 Six Nations.

Gatland: Kidney the right choice

Gatland and his Grand Slam-winning Wales squad are on a week-long camp in Wexford as part of the principality’s preparations for their two-Test tour of South Africa in June. They are also making full use of the Cryotherapy chamber at White’s Hotel in Wexford Town.

Gatland, who coached Ireland between 1998 and 2001, expressed his delight at Kidney’s appointment, a man he describes as someone who has achieved “undeniable success”.
