Kidney facing sweat over his injured stars

MUNSTER coach Declan Kidney has a few serious injury worries as he prepares for important Magners League games over the next two weekends followed by the Heineken European Cup quarter-final against Gloucester at Kingsholm on Saturday, April 5.

Denis Leamy (shoulder) and David Wallace (shin) left the field during Saturday’s game against England at Twickenham and are very unlikely to line out against Ulster at Musgrave Park on Saturday night next or against Connacht in Galway the following Friday. Their progress will be closely monitored on their return to the Munster fold this week.

“Denis got a nasty knock on his shoulder very early in the game and he was struggling and so we had to get him off,” reported Ireland boss Eddie O’Sullivan. “I don’t think there’s anything too serious there. The more serious one is David Wallace. He hurt his leg. We don’t know the extent of the damage but it might be serious. He will have an X-ray and that will give us a clearer picture.”
