Horan felt he had to wait an “age” as Ronan O’Gara’s perfectly weighted cross kick descended into the “bread basket” for the most crucial score of the game early in the second half.

Ireland, under pressure in the first half, led 14-6 before Horan’s score gave them more breathing space and the confidence to push on for a comfortable win.
