WARREN GATLAND has broken a 60-year-old record by naming 13 Ospreys players in the Wales starting line-up for Saturday’s RBS Six Nations Championship opener against England at Twickenham.

The last time one club or region was anywhere near as heavily represented in a Wales team was during the 1948 Five Nations, when Cardiff provided 10 players to the national cause.

The only starting players Gatland has selected from outside the Ospreys are Martyn Williams, the Cardiff Blues flanker who recently ended a brief stint in retirement, and Llanelli Scarlets winger Mark Jones.
