HE MAY not carry as high a profile as the many other New Zealanders plying their trade in professional rugby on this side of the globe but in many ways Jason Holland is as vital a cog in the Munster machine as any player or any member of the backroom staff.

The midfield general who helped the team reach Heineken Cup finals in 2000 and 2002 is now Munster’s video analyst and over the past couple of months has been busier than most. In that time, they have played a whole host of crucial Heineken Cup and Magners League matches and “Dutchy” hardly had a spare minute as he prepared a myriad of videos to help Declan Kidney and his players to prepare for each challenge.

He finished his playing career with Munster at the end of the 2004/5 season and returned to New Zealand. He did so with happy memories, most notably the European finals of 2000 and 2002 even though both were lost.
