Keane seeks edge in bid for Leinster spot

MORE than once this season Michael Cheika has claimed this Leinster squad to be the best since he took charge. They have, he believes, quality cover available in every position.

Scrum-half has been a key testing ground for that theory since Australian number nine Chris Whitaker broke an ankle during the Heineken Cup defeat in Toulouse three weeks ago.

Whitaker’s misfortune allowed 22-year-old Cillian Willis to step into the breach in the south of France and the Blackrock man has started the two games since, against the Ospreys and Munster.
