Blow for Wales as Jones out of World Cup

WALES suffered a major injury blow yesterday when it was confirmed that number eight Ryan Jones had been ruled out of the World Cup.

Jones underwent an operation on his left shoulder 11 days ago — the same shoulder he had reconstructed after the Lions tour in 2005.

And, after a thorough medical review, it was decided the 26-year-old would risk lasting damage if he was not withdrawn from the World Cup.
