GEORDAN Murphy has been linked from time to time with Munster and it may well be that he will be seen in the famous red jersey some time in the future — although not next season when he is due to be granted a testimonial by Leicester Tigers.

Should he eventually grace Thomond Park as a member of the home side, he will surely take a lot of positives from the crucial part he played in bringing to an end Munster’s 26 match unbeaten record at the Limerick venue.

Anyone who can cope with its special demands as Murphy did on Saturday has to be a very, very special player. And in spite of playing down his own particular role in his first half try, it was beautifully taken while his all round game and especially his fielding of the high ball was nothing short of superb.
