Goode, a surprise exclusion from the Leicester Tigers side yesterday, is determined to help his side struggle through to the knockout stages, despite the huge blow of losing their opening game at home.

Clearly irked by Leicester coach Pat Howard’s decision to start former Munster out-half Paul Burke, said he felt vindicated by knocking over a potentially match-winning penalty four minutes from the end.
