IRELAND left Western Australia yesterday with fresh hope, despite being flattened by a resurgent Wallaby side, as full back Girvan Dempsey vowed: “We will get stronger and better.”

“It has been a learning curve, we’ve tried to play two styles of rugby on this tour; some of it has worked, and some of it hasn’t. But we set out to try to mix our style of play, and we’ve succeeded to a degree.

“We came down here with a very positive attitude and a lot less predictable than heretofore. I now believe that opposing sides will be second guessing about us.
