WITH just one game remaining, it is impossible to avoid the horrible feeling of anti-climax that has engulfed the Lions tour.

One can only imagine how the many thousands of supporters who travelled exclusively for the second and third tests must be feeling.

Under normal circumstances the last week of a long tour can be difficult. With the test series dead and buried, it is only natural that many of the players are thinking of home and holidays after ten exhaustive months of continuous rugby. In that context, the mid week side did extremely well to retain their unbeaten record against Auckland on Tuesday. For the majority of players involved in that group they can return home, safe in the knowledge they did everything possible to keep the tour afloat.
