Tigers backed to regain title

London Irish coach Gary Gold last night backed Leicester to regain the Zurich Premiership title they relinquished to Wasps two seasons ago.

Leicester showed that all their old hunger is back with a 39-22 victory over Irish at the Madejski Stadium today.

The try-hungry Tigers claimed five touchdowns and, although Irish were kept in the game by prolific goal kicker Barry Everitt, Leicester were good value for their second successive maximum five-point win.
