IRFU and player body in dispute talks

THE IRFU and the Irish Rugby Union Players Association will meet tomorrow to thrash out the issues of match fees and win bonuses which have cast a doubt over Ireland’s summer tour to South Africa.

The chief executives of both organisations, Philip Browne and Niall Woods, were due to meet in Dublin yesterday evening but the meeting was cancelled by the IRFU.

The governing body was unable to organise a get-together of their management committee before they faced the players' union at the negotiating table.
