O’Driscoll not offered captaincy of Lions tour, says father

BRIAN O’DRISCOLL has not been offered the captaincy of the British and Irish Lions team to tour New Zealand next year, according to the player’s father.

The Mail on Sunday claimed Ireland skipper O’Driscoll has already been approached to succeed Martin Johnson.

But O’Driscoll’s father Frank, yesterday said the report was “absolute nonsense”.
