Trimble signs three-year Ulster deal

ULSTER RUGBY announced yesterday that Andrew Trimble has agreed a new three-year contract with the club which will keep him at Ravenhill until June 2009.

The 21-year-old made his Ulster competitive debut against Cardiff, at the beginning of the season, and has been ever-present in the line-up since then - making his Irish international debut in November against Australia.

A former pupil of Coleraine Institute, Trimble, who is studying Theology at Bible College, in Belfast, has come through the Ulster and Irish Schools, Under 21 and Academy systems. The three-year-deal is a great boost for the club that has nurtured his exciting talent.

With Trimble’s deal sealed, Ulster Rugby has also announced details of their final signing for next season.

Tom Court a tighthead prop from Australia will join Mark McCall’s side on a two-year contract.

Previously a top athlete, Court (24), who is Irish qualified for rugby, was one of the best shot-putters in Australia and is a relative newcomer to rugby union.

He began playing the code whilst studying at the University of Queensland, just three years ago.

From there, he was invited to join the Queensland Reds academy. Since then, Court has played for Queensland A and NPC side, Manawatu, before he returned from New Zealand to Australia to feature in the Queensland Reds Super 14 squad, earlier this season.
