Almost a year after his troublesome shoulder had some thinking Ireland would be competing in the World Cup without Keith Wood, the soul of Irish Rugby will be directing line-outs again in Scotland this afternoon.

Wood played 70 minutes in his much-heralded comeback match against Wales before Munster twice afforded him the opportunity to sharpen his game. By his own admission, he is in the region of 60-70% match fit. But, the hooker accepts this game will be the biggest examination of how far his body still has to go.
