MUNSTER back-row Denis Leamy is targeting this season for his breakthrough after a sensational individual display against the Llanelli Scarlets last Sunday earned the 22-year-old the MVP award and helped Munster to their first win in this year’s Celtic League campaign.

Leamy started as open-side flanker ahead of 19-times capped David Wallace and proceeded to give a hugely energetic display that will certainly boost his chances of a starting position in the upcoming Heineken Cup.

“Yeah, it could be a breakthrough year,” said Leamy yesterday. “But you can’t say anything for definite as yet.
