NEWCASTLE boss Rob Andrew ruled himself out of joining the England management team and then gave a clear indication why so many commentators and fans believe he should take over at Twickenham.

Andrew, aged 43, has fired a broadside at the Rugby Football Union for their "shambolic" treatment of Newcastle's injured England Under-21 prop David Wilson. And he has slammed the RFU's commitment to junior international rugby as an "astronomical waste of money".

Andrew had been linked with the role of England team manager a position effectively held by Clive Woodward before he resigned - which would free Andy Robinson to concentrate on coaching.
