Long-term deal for ‘gifted’ Carter

DANIEL CARTER heads a list of 13 New Zealand internationals and 47 Super 14 players who have signed new long-term contracts with the New Zealand Rugby Union.

Carter, who has scored 315 points in 22 All Black Tests, including a record 33 in the second British & Irish Lions Test in July, has penned a deal committing himself to the Union until 2008.

The NZRU’s announcement means the bulk of their current squad are now in place to travel to the 2007 World Cup in France.
