Kidney giving young guns every opportunity

Munster coach Declan Kidney is giving the youngsters on the panel plenty of opportunities.

Kidney giving young guns every opportunity

UL Bohemians utility back Barry Murphy is named on the right wing and his namesake Frank plays at scrum-half in the Celtic League at Hugendon tonight against Glasgow.

Winger Murphy comes in for John Kelly and Murphy takes over from Peter Stringer. While Kelly is named in the travelling party, Stringer has a leg injury which could keep him out for two weeks and the deputy scrum-half position goes to Mike Prendergast.

Kidney experiments with his centre partnership yet again and names Rob Henderson at number 13 alongside Trevor Halstead.

While Paul Burke retains his out-half position, and Mick O’Driscoll and Trevor Hogan form the second row partnership, it’s certain that Ronan O’Gara and Donncha O’Callaghan will see some action.

The two Irish Lions are back in the squad and are likely to play for at least 40 minutes. Captain Anthony Foley has been rested and is named as one of the seven replacements.
