Wicked Pleasure can get off the mark at the fourth time of asking when she contests the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel on Thursday.
The Henry de Bromhead-trained daughter of Harzand shaped well on debut when third in a Thurles bumper last December before finishing in the same position in a similar contest at Gowran Park in February.
On the back of an eight-month break, Wicked Pleasure made her hurdling debut at Roscommon last month where she again shaped with promise to finish fourth.
With that pipe opener under her belt, and improvement anticipated, she ought to go close in what looks a weak contest.
It could be a fruitful day for De Bromhead as Nirisque has decent claims in the Mahon Falls Novice Handicap Hurdle.
Like Wicked Pleasure, Nirisque comes here on the back of a recent run and No Risk At All mare ought to strip fitter for that Down Royal outing when fifth last month.
She disappointed when sent off the 6-5 favourite at Thursday’s venue on her final start of last season but a repeat of her run when second at Tramore in April would give her every chance of landing the spoils on her handicap debut.
Kings Jet can belatedly add to his debut success at Down Royal win in May of last year when he runs in the William Hill Challenge Series Handicap Chase.
The six-year-old showed little in his first three starts this year but took a big step forward when runner-up to Anodandawink at Kilbeggan in August before proving that improved run to be no fluke when third at Killarney later that month.
He looked set to get back to winning ways at Listowel last month but for a fall at the last when still in front and looking the probable winner.
This looks a good opportunity for him to claim compensation for that mishap.
