Progressive Instant Appeal might be capable of completing a four-timer for Stephen Thorne and Shamrock Thoroughbreds in the Group Deals Available At Dundalk Stadium Rated Race.

This Advertise gelding, whose juvenile form for Jessica Harrington included a third to the mighty City Of Troy at the Curragh, has been a revelation since joining Thorne, building on a stable debut third to Valorous Power to rack up a hat-trick in the concluding months of his three-year-old campaign.

He got off the mark for his new connections when scoring off 75 in a one-mile 0-80 handicap on the polytrack in early November.

A month later, off an 8lb. higher mark, he followed-up in a 0-100 event, beating Carolina Jetstream who re-opposes the selection here, on 11lb better terms.

Last time, Instant Appeal dropped in trip but delivered again, landing a seven-furlong, 0-100 handicap at the expense of veteran Big Gossey, who will be in the field again tonight, meeting Thorne’s charge on 6lb. better terms.

Clearly, at the revised weights, Instant Appeal will need a career best performance to continue on his winning ways here. And, open to further improvement, he gets the vote to score again under Jack Kearney.

Big Gossey, who has recorded two of his ten wins on the polytrack, will be helped by the 7lb. claim of Patrick McGettigan.

The earlier twin-feature, the Irishinjuredjockeys, com Rated Race, over two miles, affords another progressive type Bryant, one of two runners for Robson De Aguiar, a good opportunity to register his third success.

Originally trained by George Scott in England, this Wootton Bassett colt won a Roscommon maiden last August when, rated 77, he was in the care of Adrian Murray.

He later finished fourth to Saratoga in Listowel and, on his first start under the Aguiar banner, filled third spot behind Quatre Bras on his first visit to Dundalk.

Last time, he landed a two-mile 0-90 handicap at the end of November, beating Gentleman Joe readily, a win came off 86, prompting a 5lb. hike from the handicapper.

Bryant faces some seasonal rivals here. But it’s significant that Wayne Lordan is travelling for this one ride. And he might deliver again.

Stable-companion Dallas Star, off the track since being well-beaten in the Irish St.Leger, is an interesting rival, along with Denis Hogan’s Tyson Fury.
