Ireland’s great racing festivals, of which the Listowel Harvest meeting is certainly one, provide the opportunity for horses to appear on more than one occasion, and while the two Flat days were grouped together at the start of the week, two runners from Monday’s card, one of which was successful, turned out again to win on Tuesday.
Cristal Clere was quite well beaten here in an 11-furlong race on Monday but the drop in trip and drying ground played to his strengths and he took the day’s feature, the listed Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes.
